18UAAA

HEAD COACH

Richmond City Baseball Association is pleased to announce that Pat Whalen will be the coach of our 18U AAA team this season.

Pat has achieved his coaching certification with Baseball Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and is an avid student of the game. He has coached baseball for over 10 years and has been an active board volunteer in youth baseball during this time, which included 2 years as President of Little Mountain Baseball in Vancouver. Pat was most recently the coach of Vancouver Community Baseball’s 15U AA Bantam Team, where his team was fortunate to participate in the Provincial Championships hosted by Richmond last season and witness the great work of our volunteers and baseball community in Richmond.

Pat grew up in Richmond, where he played baseball for over 15 years and has many great memories of his time playing the game, which included a number of years playing at our Latrace Field. He’s excited to be back supporting RCBA and create a positive experience for the players and their families this season.

Pat and his wife, Carrie, have 2 boys, and when not at the diamond, he works as an Executive Director of Workplace Health & Safety with one of BC’s Health Authorities – the Provincial Health Services Agency.
