For the 2026 Season, Richmond City Baseball Association (RCBA) is pleased to offer AAA and AA level baseball for the 18U age group. 18U is a 3-year division with player birth years – 2008, 2009 and 2010 (or full-time high school students born between Aug-Dec 2007).

The team is looking to build on a successful 2025 season, where they made it to the Provincial Championships. This year RCBA is offering optional AAA prep camp sessions to provide players with a chance to get back into playing form prior to actual tryouts. Information on the camps and tryout is listed below. The prep camps are not mandatory for players wishing to tryout and again, they are optional sessions to help players get their arms limbered up before the tryouts.

The AAA team is a competitive rep team to which No Fair Play rules (9 player ball) apply. BC Minor Baseball 18U AAA rules allow for unlimited imports (non-Richmond residents) to play on a team and players are not guaranteed placement on the AAA team regardless of their previous playing history with RCBA. All roster decisions will be made solely at the discretion of the coaching staff based on a combination of skills as well as available positions within the team.

For those not selected for the AAA team, Richmond will also be fielding an AA team which will offer a more recreational level of play (where 9 player ball is not in effect and all players bat in rotation). Additional information on the AA program will be available in early spring 2026.

The 18U AAA prep camps are scheduled at the Blundell Elementary School diamond and batting cage for the following dates and times. As noted, the Feb 1 tryout location will be determined closer to the date subject to weather:

THURSDAYS JAN 15, 22 & 29 - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

SUNDAYS JAN 18 & 25 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

All at the Blundell Cage.

IMPORTANT:  For players not registered with Richmond City Baseball Association, as per BC Minor rule book (sec 7.07), although releases are not required, players outside of our Association’s boundary must notify/email their association & the RCBA 18U coordinator (18U@richmondcitybaseball.com) a min of 5 days prior to trying out for us or we face a $200 fine for every player that does not provide proper notification.  Please note that RCBA will not consider paying any of these fines and they will be on the individual player/family to pay.

Additional Information Below:

• 18U AAA teams are competitive single season rep teams (April - August).
• The league includes teams from all over the lower mainland as well as the interior and Vancouver Island and travel will be required to the island and interior and the team members will have extra travel expenses (ferries, hotels & meals etc.)
• There are also additional team fees for AAA team members including, but not limited to: coaching, third party trainers, tournaments, etc. over and above the registration fees. These are anticipated to be approximately $300- $500 per player however will be determined according to the team budget soon after the team has been finalized.
• The AAA team generally has 2 practices per week and games are generally on Saturdays and Sundays including doubleheaders
